Since 2006 Vaughn Buntain has worked in Europe in the renewable energy sector, primarily solar photovoltaic (PV).  For 10 years prior he was a management consultant in the New York area with a focus on corporate, productivity enhancement for Fortune 1000 companies.   Most of his adult career has been in international business development.

Vaughn’s entry into the solar sector began as VP International Business Development for Germany’s largest, solar PV integrator.  This led to development projects in the US where he was CEO of US operations.   In 2010 he started his own company working as interface between the capital markets and European, utility scale solar PV and wind.  This effort is typically mandate driven by investors seeking illiquid, government-backed, double-digit returns in the European, solar feed-in-tariff (FIT) market.

With many European solar assets now at one quarter of their depreciable lives, under performance and less-than-desirable yield is increasingly common.  In these scenarios, three (3) options exist:  a) maintain status quo, b) diagnose and repair, or c)  divest.  In each case, individual investor/owner strategies and goals are the ultimate deciding factor.  Whatever the decision,  RES stands ready to provide the appropriate, intelligent and pertinent intervention.

Vaughn is married, father of two sons and lives in Germany’s Ammersee region.  He is fluent in English, French, Spanish, Italian and German.
